Petersen Automotive Museum

In its 30th anniversary year, the Petersen Automotive Museum has redefined automotive cultural engagement, attracting a record-breaking 450,000 visitors. Through twelve new exhibitions in 2024, including the world’s first Tesla retrospective and vital cultural narratives like “The Negro Motorist Green Book”, the museum continues to bridge automotive heritage with contemporary relevance.

The museum’s commitment to accessibility saw 300,000 underserved families receive free admission, whilst its educational programmes, supported by 200 staff and 167 volunteers, engaged 12,000 students through guided tours and practical workshops. The collection’s expansion, including four significant acquisitions from the Mullin Automotive Museum, enhances its position as a leading cultural institution.

Beyond its walls, the Petersen’s influence extends through international rallies, collaborative educational initiatives, and a pioneering partnership with McPherson College to preserve America’s private collections, whilst maintaining engagement with 1.3 million social media followers.
