73rd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

The 73rd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance marked a watershed moment in its evolution, featuring a historic shift towards post-war vehicles which outnumbered pre-war classics by over 20 percent. This transformation was exemplified through dedicated classes for 1990s BPR and FIA GT racing machines, alongside a comprehensive exploration of Wedge car design from 1955 to 2023.

Whilst honouring tradition through celebrations of Packard’s 125th and Maserati’s 110th anniversaries, the event demonstrated remarkable innovation. The first-ever preservation car to win Best of Show—a 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports—reflected the Concours’ commitment to authenticity, while the display of Queen Elizabeth II’s Land Rovers highlighted its international significance.

Under Sandra Button’s chairmanship, the event successfully balanced heritage with contemporary relevance, raising over 3 million dollars for charity whilst maintaining its position as a leading force in collector car culture through its embrace of both preservation and innovation.
